Janet Cruz

Janet Cruz, MD

Janet Cruz, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician in Philadelphia. She cares for patients at Tower Health Medical Group – Family Medicine's University City location and serves as medical director of the Drexel Student Health Center. She has a clinical interest in women's health, sexual health, and adolescent and college medicine.

Dr. Cruz was a United States Air Force military physician and medical director for the 436th Medical Group at Dover Air Force Base. Prior to that, she spent three years as a staff family medicine physician for the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath Air Base in the United Kingdom. In addition to clinical responsibilities, she coordinated training programs for wartime contingencies, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief response.

Maya Bass

Maya Bass, MD, MA

Maya Bass, MD, MA, is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing in Philadelphia. She has interest in the care of underserved populations, reproductive health, and wellness. She also focuses on the care of adolescents, gender nonconforming patients, and the use of integrative approaches to pain and opioid use disorder.

Gina Bennett

Gina Bennett, AGPC-NP

Gina Bennett is board certified and licensed as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner practicing at the Drexel Student Health Center. She is proficient in emergency room care, school nursing, and dialysis. She practiced as a School Nurse for six years in an underserved community where she was able to take the lead in improving the health outcomes of her students and their families. Upon receiving her degree as a Nurse Practitioner, Gina practiced with Nephrology Associates in Montgomery County, PA.

Gina's ultimate desire is to educate and care for the health of students and young adults. This led her to Drexel University in July of 2017.

Susanna Evans

Susanna Evans, MD

Susanna Evans, MD, is associate professor and chair of the Department of Family, Community & Preventive Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She previously served as the program director for the Montgomery Family Practice Residency program.

Dr. Evans practices family and community medicine in Manayunk and University City with Tower Health Medical Group – Family Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Prior to joining Drexel, Dr. Evans served as medical director for Montgomery Family Ob/Gyn Center and Montgomery Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Norristown.

Emily M. Levy

Emily M. Levy, MD

Emily M. Levy, MD, is a family and sports medicine physician practicing in Manayunk and University City. She is board certified in primary care sports medicine and family medicine. Dr. Levy comes to Drexel from UC San Diego, where she served as the team physician for the university's soccer, basketball, lacrosse and rugby teams. She was also a team physician for the San Diego Sockers indoor professional soccer team, and served as medical director for the California State Games in 2017.

Dr. Levy has a particular clinical interest in joint injections and the use of ultrasound to guide injections and in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries.

Kristen Ryczak, MD

Kristen Ryczak, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician practicing at Tower Health Medical Group – Family Medicine in University City and the Drexel Student Health Center. Dr. Ryczak previously provided outpatient family medicine care through Virtua Medical Group.

Patrice Harris

Patrice Harris, MSN, MBA, BS, RN-BC

Patrice Harris currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. She has been a Registered Nurse for more than 10 years. Her professional background consists of working at Planned Parenthood (Charge Nurse, 2yrs), Kindred Healthcare (LTACH floor RN, 1yr), CHOP (Primary Care RN, 1yr), and Penn Medicine (Home Care RN, 5.5yrs). She has a BS in Health Information Management from Temple, a BS in Nursing from Drexel, a MBA in Health Administration from Eastern University, and a MSN from Holy Family.

Office Manager

Jesenia Guzman

Jesenia Guzman is a handson clinical manager with over 12 years of experience in the medical field. She worked as a lead medical assistant for the Department of Medicine at Drexel for 10 years and was then promoted to office manager. She has recently taken the office manager role at the Student Health Center and is excited and eager to work with the staff, providers, and students.
