Pharmacy Updates to your Dragon Medical Plan
Under your Dragon Plan coverage through Aetna Student Health, you have access to 60,000+ participating (also called preferred) pharmacies nationwide. It is likely that your local pharmacy is included in Aetna’s national pharmacy network. When getting a prescription filled at your pharmacy, present your card or provide your insurance information over the phone. You can find if your pharmacy is participating by visiting Aetna's Directory of Health Care Professionals.
To view estimated drug costs, copays, your ID card, and review specific benefits including covered and excluded drugs, visit Aetna's Student Health website and select "Drexel University."
To maintain quality, and to keep costs in check, some drugs may require:
- Precertification – This means that some drugs will have to be approved by Aetna before they are covered. If this is required, your doctor must contact Aetna to request an approval of coverage.
- Step-therapy – This means that you must try one or more alternative drug(s) before Aetna covers a step-therapy drug.
