Change to Effort Reporting Requirements

December 13, 2021

Effective for the Fiscal Year 2022 Quarter 2 (FY22Q2) effort reporting certification period, which will be released on January 17, 2022, the University will no longer require effort report certification for those grants that are fully funded by unrestricted, private, industry, foundations, or internal (Drexel) funding, and for which the sponsor does not require effort reporting.

Effort reporting continues to be required for all grants funded by federal sources (direct and pass-through), city governments, state governments, and grants where we are contractually required to provide effort reports and any cost share funds associated with these funds.

This change in process should reduce administrative burden and streamline our effort reporting process.  The Banner Self-Service Effort Reporting System will not change.  This is simply a procedural adjustment to amend the types of grants/contracts/clinical trials that require effort reporting as an institution.

We look forward to your feedback and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns via email at
