Nancy Raitano Lee Receives 2016 Antelo Devereux Award
May 23, 2016
Nancy Raitano Lee, PhD, assistant professor in the Psychology department, has been selected as a recipient of the 2016 Antelo Devereux Award, an annual award given by the College of Arts of Sciences to young faculty in pursuit of a research project. Professor Lee will utilize the funds from the award to complete a project entitled "Parenting behaviors and the development of executive function: Identifying a possible window of opportunity for improving executive function in youth with Down syndrome." Lee hopes that this project will be the first step in a larger program that aims to identify ways that parents can help to scaffold the development of executive functions (higher level cognitive skills that are thought to be important for success in school, daily functioning, and employment) in youth with Down syndrome and other forms of intellectual disabilities.
