STS Students Justin Carone and Derek Parrott Recognized at Graduate Students Day

Derek Parrott, MS science, technology & society '16, and Justin Carone, MS science, technology & society '16, were honored at Drexel's 2016 Graduate Student Day. Derek Parrott won a 2016 Research Excellence Award in the Social Sciences and Justin Carone won a 2016 Outstanding Promise Award for the Social Sciences.
Graduate Student Day, hosted by the Graduate College and the Graduate Student Association (GSA), occurs at the end of the spring each year. The occasion recognizes the excellent contributions of graduate students towards the mission of the university especially in the classroom, teaching lab and research lab. Graduate Student Excellence awards as well as GSA awards are presented to the deserving students and supporters of graduate education. For the Research Excellence Awards, the Graduate College recognizes graduate students who have exhibited outstanding research, scholarship and creativity in the past year. The Outstanding Promise Awards are presented to graduate students who are deemed to exhibit great promise for regional, national or societal impact, and accordingly, for enhancing Drexel's reputation now and in the future.
