Distinguished Chemistry Alumni Award 2013

The Department of Chemistry was pleased to present its 2013 Distinguished Chemistry Alumnus Award to Professor Frank Jordan of Rutgers Newark. Dr. Jordon received his BS in Chemistry from Drexel in 1964. He continued his education at University of Pennsylvania and received a Ph.D. in 1967. Dr. Jordan had two postdoctoral appointments, from 1967 to 1968 he studied at The Sorbonne followed by two years at Harvard University. After leaving Harvard Dr. Jordan joined Rutgers University. His research focuses on the structure, regulation, mechanism of action, and folding of two groups of enzymes, thiamin diphosphate-dependent enzymes and serine phosphatases. Since joining Rutgers he has published more than 200 scientific publications and has been the thesis advisor to more than 50 Ph.D. students. We congratulate Professor Jordon for his distinguished career and its reflection on the education he received at Drexel.
