"Title: Synthesis of Nitrogen-containing heterocycles through Carbon-Hydrogen (C-H) & Carbon-Carbon (C-C) bond activation strategies."

Abstract: Transition metal catalyzed C-H and C-C bond activation strategies has led to the development of new synthetic pathways for the synthesis of multitude of biologically important heterocycles. Our group has been focussing on synthesis of biologically important nitrogen containing heterocycles and natural products. Apart from the synthesis of a number of useful heterocycles we have also designed and developed a couple of new directing groups which can help in avoiding the use of stoichiometric metal oxidant and in reducing steps to attach and/or detach directing groups. I will give a brief introduction on the latest advances in this area and a detailed information about our own contributions.
