Weight Loss Studies at the WELL Center
is recruiting overweight adults for a weight-loss study. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of different components of an established weight loss treatment. The study consists of 20 group treatment sessions that take place via video call (but could eventually be in-person if and when that is deemed safe). Groups are made up of 10-12 participants plus two weight loss experts who lead the groups. Study participants will be asked to complete follow-up assessments one year and two years after the end of treatment.
The Balancing Act Project
is recruiting overweight and obese adults with binge eating disorder who are interested in losing weight. This project assesses the effectiveness of a new treatment for weight loss as compared to a current treatment for weight loss. Treatment is provided in groups of 8-12 people, and involves 25 sessions of outpatient group therapy over the course of one year. (Groups take place via videoconference, but may eventually be in-person if and when that is safe.) Study participants will be asked to complete a one year follow-up assessment after the end of treatment.
