Medicine: BA/BS+MD Early Assurance Degree Program
Eligible Majors
The BA/BS+MD Early Assurance Degree program allows students to enter the Drexel University College of Medicine after four years of undergraduate study at Drexel. The program is designed to meet the needs of students dedicated to a career in medicine who desire to be relieved of the pressure associated with the traditional application process. The program is open to majors in Biology (BS) and Chemistry (BA) in the College of Arts and Sciences and to Biomedical Engineering majors. The majority of BA/BS+MD students at Drexel are Biology majors.
This highly accomplished cohort of students is committed to pursuing a career in medicine. Qualified incoming freshmen must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a weighted 4.0 scale and a combined SAT of at least 1420 or an ACT score of 32. Entering classes admitted to the BA/BS + MD program had an average GPA of 3.94, and an average combined SAT score of 1527 or ACT 34 composite. Decisions on acceptance to the BS/MD program are made by the medical school admission committee at the Drexel College of Medicine. Accepted students must maintain a 3.6 GPA in all coursework while an undergraduate, including all STEM courses, without repeating a course and with no grade less than a C. In addition, the MCAT is required to matriculate.
Cooperative Education, Undergraduate Research and Study Abroad
Students participate in a four-year co-op program and may also engage in undergraduate research through STAR (Students Tackling Advanced Research) or with faculty mentors within the Department of Biology and at the Drexel School of Medicine. In addition, students often pursue study abroad options to take advantage of many global opportunities.

Law: 3+3 Bachelor’s/JD Dual Degree Programs
Eligible Majors
Drexel’s accelerated “3+3” Bachelor’s/JD dual degree programs enable high-achieving high school students interested in the law to earn their bachelors and law degrees in one year less than traditional programs. Because of the rigorous academic demands of these accelerated programs, admission is limited to high-achieving incoming freshmen. Throughout their time as undergraduates, students engage in a wide variety of enrichment activities designed to confirm their interest in the law; in addition, they meet regularly with the program director and have access to resources to help ensure their success in college and law school.
