January 06, 2016
The College of Arts and Sciences’ Center for Public Policy welcomes David Thornburgh to its cohort of esteemed affiliated faculty members. Thornburgh is the president and CEO of the Committee of Seventy, a nonpartisan nonprofit working to influence “good government” in Philadelphia.
Thornburgh has recently served as chief executive of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, and as executive director of the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
“We are very excited to have David Thornburgh join our faculty,” says Richardson Dilworth, PhD, professor of political science and director of the Center for Public Policy. “This is an excellent opportunity for our students, and we hope the beginning of a strong and productive partnership between Drexel’s Center for Public Policy and the Committee of Seventy.”
In addition to its policy recommendations, the Committee of Seventy also serves as a resource for elections and voting, campaign finance, ethics and transparency, taxes and budget, public education and government reform.
Thornburgh’s first course, Theory and Practice of Policy Analysis, is being offered this quarter. For more on Thornburgh, please visit the Committee of Seventy website.
