History & Politics Department Head Elected to LSA Board

Scott Barclay, Ph.D., professor and head of the Department of History and Politics, has been elected to the Law and Society Association’s Class of 2014 Board of Trustees.
Founded in 1964, the Law and Society Association is a group of scholars interested in socio-legal topics. Members come from a range of disciplines including sociology, anthropology, law, economics, political science and history. Barclay was elected to the Board in an open membership vote and will serve in this position for a three-year term.
Prior to joining Drexel in September 2011, Barclay completed a two-year rotation at the National Science Foundation as Program Director for the Law and Social Science Program. He has held faculty positions at SUNY Albany, UC Santa Cruz and the University of Washington.
Barclay received his B.A. from the Department of Government at the University of Queensland, Australia, and received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Northwestern University.
