CoAS Raft Debate

Thursday, May 2, 2019

4:30 PM-6:30 PM

A group of professors are stranded on a desert island. With only one chance for escape (a single-person life raft), each “islander” must argue for why they — specifically, their discipline — is most deserving of survival. It's an event not to be missed!

Islanders

  • Stefanie Kroll, PhD, Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science
  • Lee Hoffman, PhD, Department of Chemistry
  • Allan Stegeman, Department of Communication
  • Jan Armon, PhD, Department of English and Philosophy
  • Alden Young, PhD, Department of History
  • Pavel Grinfeld, PhD, Department of Mathematics
  • Joel Oestreich, PhD, Department of Politics
  • Jason Orne, PhD, Department of Sociology

Judge:

  • Amelia Hoover Green, PhD, Department of Politics

Come clap, heckle and cheer for your favorite faculty member or discipline. Only one can survive and YOU decide their fate!
