DUBAC VIRTUAL ALUMNI WEEKEND MIXER
Saturday, May 22 | 4 to 6 p.m. ET
The Drexel University Black Alumni Council invites you to its annual mixer. It may look a little different this year, but in person or online, it’s always a good time when this group gets together! Get updates from DUBAC leadership and take a virtual tour of the new Center for Black Culture on campus. Plus, four award recipients will be honored: Veronica Carey, PhD (Dr. Ewaugh F. Fields Legacy Award), Cleo ’78 and Denise ’80 Kirkland (Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award) and Randy Holmes ’70 (Paragon Trailblazer Award).
AN AFTERNOON AT THE BARNES: EXPERIENCING ART FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS
Saturday, May 22 | Session 1: 12 to 1 p.m. and Session 2: 3 to 4 p.m. ET
Through a joint venture pioneered by Drexel’s Physician Assistant Program, educational experts at the Barnes Foundation have developed programming that teaches participants critical work and life skills through observing and discussing art. Join us for this interactive virtual experience and immerse yourself in this program which has been applied to disciplines as diverse as medicine, business, social justice, public service, and education. Our speakers will share a short history of the Barnes Foundation, how the partnership with Drexel emerged, and will then offer guided prompts for how to view selected pieces of artwork. Afterwards, reconvene for a discussion about your experience and how it can be applied in your personal and professional lives.
