Director Featured in YouTube Series

September 11, 2019

During World Breastfeeding Week (August, 2019), Susan Fuchs, MS, IBCLC (Drexel Nutrition Sciences, 2016), the program director for the Human Lactation program in the Department of Nutrition Sciences, appeared in a documentary series directed by award winning author and advocate, Kim Seals Allers.

In the digital narrative series, the stories of women who are breastfeeding in unique circumstances are highlighted, from a prison nursery, to a Native American reservation, to a mother in recovery from opioid addiction. Susan works closely with mothers who are in opiate recovery programs to help empower them and educate them on breastfeeding.

This video series is not only available for public viewing, but will be used as an educational tool for health professionals to help them with recognizing and tackling the disparities in our health care system.
