Each year the Gill Center at Indiana University hosts a research symposium and at that event, a person is recognized for outstanding contributions to research in neuroscience. CNHP's new Associate Dean of Research is the recipient of this year's Transformative Research Award for her work in cellular, molecular or systems neuroscience.

Her research is focused on understanding the impact of sex hormones on energy homeostasis, metabolic function and adipose tissue distribution, which ultimately will enhance our understanding of the role of estrogen in protecting against diseases associated with obesity and the metabolic syndrome.
