Marie Savard, MD
Marie Savard, MD is a trusted voice in patient empowerment and collaborative doctor-patient partnership. Savard is the author of four books on personal health management and wellness including How To Save Your Own Life, The Savard System for Managing – and Controlling – Your Health Care, The Savard Health Record, The Body Shape Solution to Weight Loss and Wellness and Ask Dr. Marie: What Women Must Know about Hormones, Libido, and the Medical Problems No One Talks About.
In addition to an internal medicine practice, Savard served as "ABC News" medical contributor and has appeared on all the major networks including NBC, CBS, CNN, "The Oprah Show" and "The View." She also served as corporate medical director of New Courtland, provider of long term care services, and chief medical officer for PerformRx, a pharmacy benefit management company.
She was the 2015 recipient of the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania Elizabeth Kirk Rose Women in Medicine Award for her commitment and contribution to advancing the education and careers of women in academic medicine.
Savard earned both her bachelor's in nursing and MD at the University of Pennsylvania where she is a member of the board of overseers of the School of Nursing. She also served as a University trustee. She is writing a blog and working on a technology solution to minimize polypharmacy in the elderly.
