Deputy Surgeon General to Give Keynote

The Pennsylvania Action Coalition works to promote a healthy Pennsylvania through improvements in the quality, accessibility, and safety of nursing. The Coalition comprises a diverse group of local, regional and state-level stakeholders. These include individuals and organizations from health care systems, academic institutions, nursing leadership organizations, businesses, community organizations, and anyone involved in advancing health care through nursing in Pennsylvania.
Drexel's College of Nursing and Health Professions has partnered with the PA Action Coalition to present their annual Pennsylvania Healthcare Mosaic conference. The 2018 conference explores themes of equity, cultural competence and confident humility. Attendees will be able to discuss the complex relationships between inclusion, discrimination, social determinants of health and health outcomes through both research and practical perspectives. The speakers who will be presenting are healthcare experts and will give some of the most relenvant information to our topics. In addition to Deputy Surgeon General Rear Admiral Sylvia Trent-Adams, PhD, RN, FAAN who will be delivering the keynote address, presentations will be made by:

Continuing Education Credits
For nurses: The PA-AC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing are collaborating to offer continuing education credits. Nurses participating in the activity and completing the evaluation tool may receive a maximum of 9.16 contact hours (6.16 will be provided for just attending the Main Conference Day). The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
For physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the PA Action Coalition. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsT. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
