Drexel Hosts 2nd Annual Sports Nutrition Conference

The Drexel Center for Integrated Nutrition & Performance (CINP) presented the second annual Sports Nutrition Conference on May 9 in Behrakis Grand Hall on Main Campus. Some of the featured presentations included: "Achieving Optimal Weight for Optimal Performance" by Michele Macedonio, MS, RD, CSSD, LD, President and Founder of Nutrition Strategies, "B-vitamins and Their Impact on Exercise Performance" by Kathleen Woolf, PhD, RD, CSSD, Assistant Professor at New York University in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health, and "Update on Sports Supplements: Fact, Fiction and Legal Implications" by Jacqueline R. Berning, PhD, RD, CSSD, Professor at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, in the Department of Biology.
Among the attendees were Drexel students, faculty, and staff, as well as academicians, professors, researchers, Registered Dietitians, physicians, physical trainers, and others outside of the University community. After enjoying lunch, Dr. Stella Volpe, Chair of the Nutrition Sciences Department, welcomed the group and introduced the first speaker. The day was concluded with a panel discussion and opportunities for conversation and networking.
