Linda Dayer-Berenson’s textbook, Cultural Competencies for Nurses: Impact on Health and Illness, now in its second edition, was published by Jones & Bartlett Learning on February 12. Berenson’s text serves as a resource to help nurses navigate through social obstacles that commonly occur in healthcare environments, such as differing beliefs about health and the impact of culture on health and illness. This book will be a required text in Villanova University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program effective fall 2013.
