Yoga, Meditation and Holistic Living Come to Summer 2013 Nurse Practitioner Residency
July 29, 2013
The Complementary and Integrative Therapies (CIT) Program recently marked its fifth year participating in the Summer Nurse Practitioner Residency Week at Drexel University. On June 26, Stephanie Ross, Director of the Complementary and Integrative Therapie Program, gave a two-hour presentation called “A Student’s Guide to Holistic Living.”
Ruth Devereaux, an adjunct CIT faculty member, led an Integrative Meditation session that same day. Devereaux, who flew in from Ohio to teach at the Residency, has studied traditional medicine with Buddhist monks in Thailand and recently completed the Jon-Cabot Zin program in mindfulness meditation.
On June 27, their colleague Mary Beth Kealy led a one-hour yoga session with the Nurse Practitioner students. Devereaux and Kealy used distant technology to lead student yoga sessions during this year’s successful Center City Student Life event, Studypalooza.
