Watson Publishes Book About Cultural Belief in Black Inferiority
April 19, 2013
Marlene Watson, PhD, an associate professor in the Couple and Family Therapy Department, wrote a book about African Americans’ unhappiness with their families, relationships, and bodies.
Facing the Black Shadow was published in February 2013. Inside, readers will discover exercises and inspiration to find healing and adjust their relationships with their “black shadows,” a phrase used to describe a culturally pervasive belief in black inferiority. The book is available now in both paperback and e-book formats: www.drmarlenefwatson.com.
