Family Nurse Practitioner student Marilyn Berchie was awarded a $5,000 scholarship to complete her final clinical with Minute Clinic. Berchie has worked in adult care clinical settings at several locations in Maryland, seeing patients for a variety of conditions. “I had a great experience. The Nurse Practitioners there were very welcoming and taught me above and beyond what they actually do in a Minute Clinic to ensure I had the proper education,” Berchie said. During her upcoming clinical with Minute Clinic, she expects to see patients from ages six months up, offering physicals, screenings and education for diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, and immunizations along with treatment for illnesses and injuries typically seen in the primary care environment.
