New Undergraduate Course in Holistic Self-Care Quickly Fills to Capacity
September 30, 2012
“Holistic Self-Care” is a new undergraduate course offered by the Complementary and Integrative Therapies Department that takes an A-Z approach to teach students how to live a holistic, balanced lifestyle by teaching them to cultivate strong organizational skills, develop nutrition habits for better mood, and by introducing them to the practices of meditation and chair yoga to reduce stress while studying. Students receive a student survival kit on the first day of the course that includes essential oils, a meditation DVD, and a stress reduction CD. The course is taught by Professor Suzan Blacher and is gaining popularity so quickly that three different sections of the course had to be opened to accommodate the demand.
