Annual SNAP Conference: Dean Gives Keynote Address, Receives Award

During the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania’s 60th Anniversary Convention and Alumni Reunion in mid November, Gloria Donnelly, Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions, gave a keynote address titled, “The Many Facets of Nursing: Yesterday to Today.” Her speech recounted true, funny tales of nursing from which one learn lessons on realizing a productive, satisfying career in serving others through nursing.
At the Student Nurses’ Association banquet on November 15, Dean Donnelly was made an honorary member of the organization. She was presented with a plaque that recognizes her outstanding contributions to the Association.
With nearly 6,000 members, the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania is the largest constituent of the National Student Nurses’ Association. During the convention, Kayleigh Jackson, ‘13, was re-elected as State President and Alexis Burns, ‘15, who completed her term as Legislative Coordinator, was elected Vice-President of the organization. The Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions is well-represented in the SNAP leadership. Additionally, six CNHP students competed as a team in the NCLEX Bowl at the convention and came up just short of the top prize. These students included Jamie Burger, Kevin Semless ‘13, Andrea Dollak, Colleen Brophy ‘13, Amanda Steiner ‘13, and Olivia Dalrymple ‘14.
