Volpe Lectures at High Point University
November 1, 2012
Stella Volpe, PhD, professor and Chair of the Nutrition Sciences Department, gave a talk at High Point University in North Carolina on November 12. Her former graduate student Kimberly Reich, PhD, who is now an assistant professor in Exercise Science at High Point, invited Volpe to be a part of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Volpe presented a talk titled “Prevention of Obesity throughout the Lifespan,” which summarized and explained various research studies she had conducted on obesity prevention. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community were among the attendees, as well as Volpe’s aunt and uncle who live in North Carolina. “One person per year comes to speak, so that was a big honor,” Volpe said.
