Students Enjoy Interdisciplinary Simulation
November 1, 2012
College of Nursing and Health Professions students have the immense advantage of having access to the College’s state-of-the-art Simulation Lab during many of their courses. Faculty use the lab for both teaching opportunities and for student assessment. Interdisciplinary collaborations bring students from different departments together to learn in a collaborative environment with one another in a way that simulates interprofessional interactions in real-life work settings.
On November 6, a group of students took part in an interdisciplinary simulation. Student Jeff Zipparo, Nurse Anesthesia ‘13, said of the experience, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience working with all the other disciplines in truly realistic simulations. I applaud everyone that was involved ‘behind the screen’ in setting up and running and event like this so smoothly.”
