Students and Faculty Host and Present at Annual Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo

November 1, 2012

The Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE), an event that is run by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics each year, took place at the Philadelphia Convention Center from October 6-9. FNCE draws thousands of Registered Dietitians, researchers, industry leaders, health care providers, and policy makers. This year, a number of College of Nursing and Health Professions students and faculty participated in or helped to facilitate FNCE in Philadelphia. Undergraduate students Ha Nguyen, Angela Luciani, and Allegra Istrati were student hosts at the event, joined by graduate students Jamie Rincker, Erica Hirsch, Lindsay Yarabek, Rebecca Cohen, Erin Healy, Chelsea Schulman, Michelle Gelfand, and Tiffany Huang.

Associate professor in the Nutrition Department Jennifer Quinlan, PhD, presented a poster, “Evaluation of MyPlate as a Dietary Learning Tool Among Young Adults,” along with Lareina Lee, Adrienne Mangroo, and Kelsey Vierow, who each earned their Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition in June.

Department of Nutrition Sciences Alumni and their guests were invited to attend a special reception after the conclusion of FNCE at Molly Molloy’s Gastropub in the Reading Terminal Market after hours. Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks as they socialized with fellow alumni, faculty, and students. They left the reception with a special set of Drexel CNHP measuring spoons.
