In a lengthy article about changing degree requirements for nurses published on June 23, The New York Times features Jennifer Matton, who is working at Abington Hospital while pursuing her BSN at Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, saying “Its online RN to BSN program began in the late 1990s with a few dozen students and today has 650. Over all, its College of Nursing and Health Professions has doubled over the last decade, to about 2,400 students, making it one of the nation’s largest.” The College of Nursing and Health Professions has nearly 4,000 students currently enrolled including our online students.

Dean Donnelly was also quoted in the article. “There are several hospitals in our region, like Abington, that will hire non baccalaureate nurses but give you a certain number of years to finish the baccalaureate, and some that won’t even interview you without it,” she said.
