Grand Opening and Dedication of the Hahnemann University Hospital Simulation Lab Suite

September 29, 2010

ANNOUNCING!—The grand opening of Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions’ next generation of health sciences simulation lab was celebrated today, September 29, at Drexel’s Center City Campus. These state-of-the-art labs were made possible by a generous gift of $1.7 million from Hahnemann University Hospital.

The simulation labs will promote safe patient care by modeling critical thinking, crisis resource management and effective communication. Faculty are able to easily reconfigure the rooms to prepare the students for a variety of “real life” scenarios; an Intensive Care Unit, an Operating Room, a Labor and Delivery Room and a Community Center are just a few of the possible simulated environments.

The gift allowed for a complete build-out of two state-of-the-art video-capturing digital simulation rooms, a boardroom-style debriefing room and two 30-seat computer station classrooms.
