Janet Zimmerman, MS, RN, is an assistant clinical professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Since 2009, she has directed the online MSN program in clinical research with a focus on evidenced-based roles for nurses in clinical research.
Zimmerman has more than 30 years of experience with global Good Clinical Practice (GCP) conducted clinical trials for FDA-regulated medical products. As a clinical research nurse and later as a clinical research associate (CRA) she coordinated and monitored oncology clinical trials. Since 1990, Zimmerman has specialized in the education and training of clinical research personnel including investigators, coordinators and monitors in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior to joining the CHNP faculty in 2009, Zimmerman was associate director of clinical research development in the Clinical Research Group (CRG), Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM).
Upon receiving a BSN from Villanova University, Zimmerman was commissioned in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. She earned a MS in Nursing from the University of Colorado and completed a postmaster’s certificate in training and development from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
