Graduate Nursing

Elizabeth Tomaszewski is graduate and doctoral clinical faculty in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, Division of Advanced Practice and Doctoral Nursing. She received her MSN in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her doctoral capstone concentrated on the attitudes of critical care nurses toward rendering care to those at the end of life (EOL) in intensive care unit settings, and how EOL care education may improve those attitudes. Her work was specific to the challenges faced by critical care nurses, who historically have been charged with saving lives, and are now asked to provide comfort measures to those at the edge of life. Her research interests include critical care, palliative care, and traumatology.

Tomaszewski practices as an ACNP at  St. Luke's Health Network (Bethlehem, PA)  in the division of Critical Care Medicine. Her patient population includes both the medically and surgically ill and injured. She is also an End of Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) APN Train-the-Trainer for palliative care. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Tomaszewski worked in both emergency rooms and intensive care units in multiple settings, spending nearly a decade as a nurse in the trauma unit at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ.
