Katie Duncan, MSN, obtained her BSN at Drexel University. As an RN, Duncan has worked in specialty areas including Neuro ICU, home care and home-hospice. She also has experience working in a Cardiac Care Unit as a nursing assistant. While continuing to work as a nurse, Duncan went back to school to obtain her MSN and Nurse Practitioner degree from The University of Pennsylvania. As an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, she started her career in home-care and has transitioned to working in skilled nursing facility (SNF)/sub-acute rehab settings.
Prior to becoming a professor at Drexel, Duncan has participated in ongoing training presentations and educational sessions to SNF/facility staff. She also participated in Geriatric Medicine Grand Rounds: University of Pennsylvania Division of Geriatric Medicine as a hospice presenter.
Duncan has participated in medical volunteer work both locally and in El Salvador.
