Brewington-Brown, DNP serves as an assistant clinical professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University. She also serves as the lead inpatient obstetrics nurse practitioner at an academic healthcare center in Montgomery County, PA. Brewington-Brown received her BSN from West Chester University and her MSN from Drexel University. She recently received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wilmington University. Her evidence-based doctoral project focused on introducing mindfulness as an adjunct to cognitive-behavioral therapy for women diagnosed with perinatal depression.
With over a decade of experience within the field of women’s health, Brewington-Brown’s clinical practice and professional experiences within academia have been guided by her passion to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations of women. In an effort to make continuous strides toward health equity, equality and inclusion, Brewington-Brown has maintained memberships within professional committees that focus on quality improvement, safety, clinical competence diversity and educational initiatives. Within her healthcare organization, she serves as a member of the Obstetrics Clinical Environment Work Group, is the co-lead of the Diversity, Respect, Equity and Inclusion Council, as well as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Clinical Competence Committee.
