Interim Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions

Ann Branchini, PhD, comes to Drexel through The Registry, to provide transitional leadership for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Branchini has extensive experience in higher education, beginning as a faculty member in nursing and progressing through various levels of leadership to spend eighteen years as chief academic officer at different institutions, most recently as vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the faculty at Molloy University. Her most recent placement with The Registry was at Brandeis University, where she served as interim dean of Academic Services.

Branchini’s background in nursing focused on clinical care in medical-surgical and critical care areas, having worked as a registered nurse and clinical nurse specialist in Wisconsin, Maryland and Connecticut. She spent 12 years on the board of directors of the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut, serving as director and board chair. Her PhD in Nursing was obtained in 2012 from the University of Connecticut, with a research interest in Leadership. Her dissertation was entitled: “The Leadership of the Pioneers of Nursing Informatics: A Multiple Case Study Analysis.”
