How to Enjoy Your Summer While Acing Your Classes
July 10, 2018
Summertime is for relaxation and rejuvenation. As a student, your summer may be filled with coursework and co-ops; however, there’s no reason why you can’t ace your classes and enjoy these sunny months at the same time!
Manage your time wisely
As you may have already discovered, success often comes down to how you manage your time. It’s important to take time during the summer to have fun, but you’ll find it difficult to enjoy yourself if you’re constantly worrying about upcoming assignments. Before you go out with your friends or leave for a family vacation, dedicate time to complete some work, this way you can relax guilt-free.
Starting a class can sometimes be overwhelming, but you can ease this feeling by setting goals. What would you like to accomplish by the end of this class? Which assignments should you be prioritizing? When you set personal objectives for each of your courses, you’ll be motivated to complete your assignments and you’ll be more likely to pay attention.
Pro tip: Reward yourself with a beach day or a night out after reaching your goals! You deserve it.
Take advantage of the nice weather
Since you attend school in Philadelphia, you know how unpredictable the weather can be. Take advantage of the sunny weather by making the outdoors your classroom. Complete your coursework on the Quad, your backyard or a local park! Getting some fresh air is the perfect way to clear your mind and complete your best work.
Give yourself a break
If you find yourself struggling with your workload, sometimes the best thing to do is walk away from it for a few hours, or even a day. Give yourself time to relax in the sun and evaluate your best course of action. After your day off, you’ll likely feel ready to tackle any academic challenge!
