Information Science Course Assistants

Information Science (IS) course assistants work with faculty in INFO, DSCI and CT courses.

The Information Science Department distinguishes between teaching assistants (TAs) and course assistants (CAs): doctoral students are hired as TAs while undergraduates and master’s students are hired as CAs. Doctoral students should contact their advisor for questions about TA designation.

Course assistant applications are reviewed by department leadership and recommendations are then made to faculty qualifying for course assistance. CAs are required to have completed and received grades for three terms (for undergraduate students) or one term (for graduate students) to be eligible. Students must have either taken the course for which they will be assisting or have taken an equivalent course. Course assistants are generally responsible for helping faculty with grading and hosting office hours, through different faculty may have different needs from their CAs.

If you are interested in being a course assistant for the upcoming term, please submit an application. This application is for course assistants only.

Thank you for your interest in being a course assistant for the Information Science Department. Should you be chosen for a position in the upcoming term, you will be contacted.
