Major: BS Computer Science

Year: Junior

Hometown: Delhi, India

I chose this major because... It is the perfect amalgamation of arts and science. Not only do you get to doodle with complex algorithms, but also you get to exercise your creative muscle.

Favorite Course(s): CS 260 Data Structures and Algorithms I think the sheer complexity of this course made it an extremely rewarding and challenging experience. Not to mention how often I came across the material taught on this course for all of my technical interviews.

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: Drexel Women in Computing Society, Drexel Women in Finance

Co-ops I've done:

  • Vanguard, Malvern, PA
Worked on a project where I used Blockchain to automate the method Vanguard uses to update its mutual fund index data.
  • Pfizer, Collegeville, PA
Worked on multiple projects where I developed feature ideas that addressed the needs of the user.

Favorite thing/place at Drexel: The Cyber Learning Center at CCI. The numerous books on computer science that are readily available and the chic yet minimalistic décor of this collaboration room, makes it my favorite spot on campus.

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... Usually trying flavors from around the world at various restaurants in Philadelphia.

When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... Visit Boat House Row. The serene beauty and the picturesque sight will help cure any of those midterm or finals week nerves. And in case you are a food fanatic like me, check out Thai Singha House for the best Pad Kee Mao Philadelphia has to offer.

Advice to new/incoming CCI students: Step out of your comfort zone as often as possible. Drexel offers various opportunities for the same and try to make the most out of it.

What is your dream job? Work on a personal project or an open source project that helps better the lives of those in developing nations.

Favorite Animated Character: Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass.

Hi, I am Aparna Mishra. I was born and raised in Delhi, India and I love all things math. When I am not too busy questioning and pondering over epistemological paradoxes and mind boggling logical fallacies, I usually indulge myself with writing poetry.
