Major: BS Computer Science (Tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Data Structures & Algorithms; Minors: Finance, Math)

Year: Pre-Junior

Hometown: Hanoi, Vietnam

I chose this major because... Technology has revolutionized our daily lives to an almost incomprehensible extent. I want to take what I learn to invent new systems that both excite people and serve a purpose. How fun it is to realize everything is constructed with ones and zeros!

Favorite Course: CS164 Introduction to Computer Science. CS164 was a challenging course, but it provided me with so much knowledge in the field of computer science. It gave you a little bit of everything. I was introduced to binary numbers, assembly languages, artificial intelligence, cryptography, and web development through many interesting and intensive projects and activities. My professor was very passionate: he provided us with visual aids and actual models of the topic (CARDIAC card, Enigma Machine, etc.). Dr. Brian Stuart also showed me the possible intersections of technology and my interests – anything can be integrated into technology!

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: Community Business Collaborative, Pi Nu Epsilon - National Honorary Music Fraternity, Women in Computing Society, Society of Women Engineers, Drexel Chess Club, Vietnam Student Association, Drexel Gospel Choir, Chamber Winds Ensemble

Co-ops I've done: While I have not done co-op yet, I would love to be a Software Engineering at the Walt Disney Company.

Favorite thing/place at Drexel: the ExCITe Center

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... in Fishtown to play the piano, in Chinatown to grab dinner or bubble tea with friends, in my dorm to catch up with sleeping schedule ...

When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... Visit Penn's Landing, try Ed's Boom Boom Pizza and milkshake, try chicken chicken popcorn at Lulu's Cafe, go see a concert at Curtis Institute

Advice to new/incoming CCI students: Freshman year will fly by so fast, so make sure you enjoy the moment, appreciate your youth, and don't get too caught up with the thought of future. Looking around, you can't help but feeling overwhelmed or scared. It's okay to be apprehensive. Avoid comparing yourself to other people! It's college: we come from different backgrounds. Learn from someone who is more experienced, help those who are struggling, and you'll be just fine!

What is your dream job? Software Engineer or Creative Technologist at the Walt Disney Company

Favorite Animated Character: Judy Hopps from Zootopia

Hi! I am sophomore majoring in Computer Science. I am from Vietnam, but now that Philly is my home, I know the city pretty well. I am passionate about music, painting, video games, and chess. I love going out in the city to try out new restaurants or going to local theaters to see musicals/concerts.
