Hometown: Born in Nigeria; raised and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland
I chose this major because... I liked the idea of integrating technology and business. I find learning about management systems, networking and security very interesting.
Favorite Course: CI 101 Computing and Informatics Design I- Computing is a very broad field; CI 101 gave students a taste of different aspects within Computing, from Software Engineering to Data science. I found it very interesting, and it helped me decide what major was the best fit for me.
Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: Member of Drexel Women in Computing Society, Member of National Society of Black Engineers, Initiator and Co-founder of #StudentsofLinkedIn, Public Speaker
Co-ops I've done:
- Social Business Strategist, FRONTLINE Selling, Philadelphia, PA
- Business & Data Intelligence Analyst, Comcast, Philadelphia, PA (current co-op)
- A lot of networking opportunities!
Favorite thing/place at Drexel: The number of resources and opportunities they have for students.
When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... giving people tours of Princeton University, playing one of five instruments, playing football (soccer) or badminton, volunteering, cooking/baking, researching and binge-watching TV shows!
When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... definitely pay a visit to Spruce Street Harbor Park in Penn's Landing. It's a magical place...especially at night when everything lights up! It's a great place to relax, listen to live music or eat good (but expensive) food.
Advice to new/incoming CCI students: Be yourself! You will attract the right friends. Take advantage of as many resources and opportunities while at Drexel. Don't be afraid to take risks, ask questions, or step out of your comfort zone. These are what form your experiences and develop your character.
What is your dream job? Systems Analyst or Systems Engineer
Favorite Animated Character: Mickey Mouse
I am a sophomore Information Systems major with a minor in Security Technology. I was born in Nigeria, and relocated to Germany and then the United Kingdom. In my freshman year, I was also a Computer Science major, then Software Engineering, and now Information Systems. I guess you could say I like change. I am really passionate about technology and will do whatever it takes to get to where I want to be. Drexel offers so many opportunities and resources for students to strive for success. I am also a strong advocate for Women in Computing. I'm currently doing a summer internship at Morgan Stanley in NYC, as a Project Manager supporting Artificial Intelligence Data Technologies, and taking online classes. Please feel free to reach out to me! Some say I'm a blessing...
