Graduate Minor in Human-Computer Interaction & User Experience

CCI’s new Graduate Minor in Human-Computer Interaction & User Experience (offered beginning fall 2019) educates Drexel graduate students on foundational human-computer interaction (HCI) principles and applied user experience (UX) techniques.

This minor is ideal for Drexel graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) from all backgrounds who wish to expand their understanding of human-centered design and/or apply design skills in their major area of study.

The Graduate Minor in Human-Computer Interaction & User Experience (HCI/UX) emphasizes a range of techniques for the design and evaluation of technologies that support and complement human needs and abilities in a broad range of contexts such as work, wellness, home, entertainment and artistic expression.

Program Features

  • Course topics include design thinking, user experience research methods, prototyping the user experience, and social and collaborative computing.
  • Coursework includes discussions on design processes and different methods used to understand and meet a variety of user needs.
  • Students who successfully complete the Graduate Minor have the option to continue broadening their understanding of HCI/UX by transitioning into the Master of Science in Information degree program.
