CCI’s Graduate Minor in Applied Data Science provides Drexel graduate students an interdisciplinary education in foundational and applied data science, where data science methods are used to help solve problems or gain insights.
This minor is ideal for Drexel graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) from all backgrounds who are interested in gaining core knowledge of data science’s value and wide-ranging applications, or used as a launching point for more in depth and expansive knowledge in the field.
The Graduate Minor in Applied Data Science emphasizes practical proficiency in combining relevant fundamental skills, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and systems, and work with real datasets.
- Course topics include data organization and stewardship, mining, retrieval, visualization and analytics.
- Coursework includes discussions of case studies that arise in the private and public sectors.
- Students who successfully complete the Graduate Minor have the option to continue broadening their understanding of computer science and data science by transitioning into the Masters of Science in Data Science degree program.
