Carlos Moreira
Principal, US Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC)

Carlos F. Moreira is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). He is a member of the Health Industries Advisory (HIA) group and specifically focused on services related to Health IT (HIT) for Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry clients. He is the Go To Market Leader for HIA Analytics as well as Technology Leader (Digital, Analytics Services, and Enterprise Applications) for P&LS.

Mr. Moreira’s area of expertise is in defining, architecting and delivering innovative business/technology solutions in the Commercial functional areas, (i.e., Sales/Brand Reporting and Analytics, Pricing, and Contracts Management, Trade Management, Campaign/Promotion Management, and Master Data Management/Analytics Solutions (MDM/BI) for Life Sciences and Wholesaler/Distribution clients. Mr. Moreira has worked with many of the top 100 manufacturers as well as top 3 wholesalers by providing consulting and services that span the continuum from operations assessment, strategy, and planning to business operations architecture and large-scale application design, development, and implementation. Additionally, Mr. Moreira focuses on emerging services and needs of our clients related to analytics, digital, cloud, and IT transformation services.

He has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the life sciences industry and specifically, delivering consulting & services. Prior to joining PwC, he was the general manager for IMS’s North America Business Transformation Services which was the IT consulting arm of IMS. Prior to IMS, he was a Partner/Owner with Envision Consulting (which was acquired by IMS). Prior to that, Mr. Moreira was the Solution Leader of the Pricing and Incentives Solution Practice of CSC. Prior to joining CSC, Carlos was a manager in the Pharmaceutical practice at Andersen Consulting (Accenture).

Mr. Moreira has a B.S. in Finance and Management Information Systems from Drexel University.

Tara McIlhenny
Mid-Atlantic Campus Recruiting Manager, PwC

Tara McIlhenny is a Manager on the Mid-Atlantic Talent Identification team, where she leads PwC’s sourcing efforts at Drexel University and educational institutions across the region. She leads PwC’s early talent identification programs Connect, Explore and Elevate in the Philadelphia office. Tara has been in recruiting for 4+ years; before transitioning to recruiting, she worked in Risk Assurance - Internal Controls & Risk Solutions. She has experience working on internal audit engagements as well as two audit rotations in asset management. Tara was a 2009 graduate of Villanova University in accounting, passing her CPA in 2010; she still maintains an active license.

Thomas J. Pizzuto
Global Director, Emerging Technology at Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC), Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain

Thomas has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As Global Director, Emerging Technology at Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC), he is teaming with colleagues and customers to explore business challenges and opportunities using new technology such as blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT). His work includes ideation and experimentation, collaboration and governance, solution strategy and development.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Thomas was vice president for a leading electronic pedigree provider and was director of RFID Technology and Strategies at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Thomas currently represents Johnson & Johnson as a member of the Innovative Medicines Initiative – Blockchain Enabled Healthcare- that will bring healthcare industry leaders together with public & private partners to explore ways to improve European Union healthcare systems, processes and outcomes using blockchain technology.

He previously represented Johnson & Johnson as a member of the Pharmaceutical Distribution Security Alliance, a multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary industry initiative that helped to develop and enact federal legislation, the Drug Supply Chain Security Act, to improve patient safety and supply chain security. He was technology team lead for PhRMA’s Secure Supply Chain initiative and steering committee chairman of HDMA’s “RX Safe Track”. Thomas holds a BA from Williams College; MBA from Fordham University; and MS from Temple University, School of Pharmacy.

John Evans
Head of Blockchain Technology, Vanguard

Evans leads the Blockchain Center of Excellence as the Head of Blockchain Strategy at Vanguard. He has a background in information technology and software engineering, having served as a senior leader of Operational Risk in the Investment Management Group before helping found the Investment Management Fintech Strategies team, and establishing his current position as Vanguard’s resident distributed ledger technology expert. Prior to joining Vanguard in 2012, John held various leadership positions at Macquarie Bank in risk and technology.

Murugan Anandarajan
Professor, Department Head - Management, Decision Sciences & MIS, Academic Director - Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning - Drexel University

Murugan Anandarajan, Ph.D., is a Professor of Management Information Systems and Chairs both the Management Department and the Department of Decision Sciences and MIS at Drexel LeBow College of Business. He serves as the academic director of Dornsife Office of Experiential Learning and the Business Analytics Center. Dr. Anandarajan is a faculty member for Drexel LeBow Corporate and Executive Education. His research expertise intersect the areas of Crime, Internet of People, Things and Service (IoPTS) and Analytics.

Much of his recent work has focused on cybercrime in Medical IoT, and impact of digital technologies on business. He has published over fifty articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Decision Sciences, Journal of MIS, Journal of International Business Studies and Communications of the ACM among others. He has served in editorial positions for several academic journals; and has presented at many academic conferences and seminars. Dr. Anandarajan has won numerous awards for his research including outstanding researcher award from the LeBow College of Business in 2003 and 2004. He has co-authored eight books, including Internet and Workplace Transformation (2006) and its follow up volume, The Internet of People, Things and Services (2018). His observations and research have been cited in the media, including CNN, CBS News, ABC, and WMAR, Wired Magazine, CIO and Philadelphia Business Journal among others. He has been awarded over $2.5 Million in research and pedagogy grants to support his research from various government agencies including the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice, and the State of PA as well as organizations, such as SAP America, Lockheed Martin, Accenture, and Bristol Meyers.

Dr. Anandarajan serves as an executive faculty member for Corporate and Executive Education. Courses include: Impacts of Disruptive Information Technologies on Business, Text Mining, Business Analytics for Decision Making, Decision Support Systems, and Aligning Analytics with the Business.
