Special Accommodations (Exemption)
Students may request an accommodation (also known as an exemption) pertaining to Drexel's 2-Year Residency Program and/or the Dining Plan requirement due to special needs or extenuating circumstances concerning financial, medical or religious reasons, using the form below. Should a student request an accommodation after prior use of housing or dining services without such an accommodation, the student may be asked to clarify or explain the change in circumstances prompting the request.

Drexel Campus Dining Plan Requirement
First-Year students who reside in Residence Halls (operated by Housing and Residence Life) are required to select one of three First-Year Dining Plans for each academic term in residence. For more information, click here.
Accommodations for Religious Reasons
If seeking a dining or housing accommodation for religious reasons, students are required to complete the request form (below) and attach a letter from their spiritual advisor. The letter must be dated, on official letterhead, name the leader's position in the place of worship, include the spiritual advisor's non-electronic signature and explain in detail the rationale behind the request. The letter must also be specific to the student and their needs. Students must be proactive and request an accommodation in a timely manner, as such requests will undergo Spiritual and Religious Life's committee review process (approximately 10 business days). For more information, visit the Office of Equality and Diversity website. Any dining accommodation requests submitted after the two-week deadline, i.e. the second Friday of each term, will not be processed until the following academic term.
Accommodations for Financial Reasons
When seeking a dining or housing accommodation for financial reasons, students are required to complete the request form (below). Students must be proactive and request such an accommodation in a timely manner, as such requests may take approximately 10 business days to review. Any dining accommodation requests submitted after the two-week deadline, i.e. the second Friday of each term, will not be processed until the following academic term.
Accommodations for Medical Reasons
If seeking a dining or housing accommodation for medical reasons, students must submit documentation that supports the requested accommodation to Drexel's Office of Equality and Diversity, Disability Resources (DR). More information, including deadlines, can be found on the DR website. Students may contact DR directly at 215.895.1401 Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., or firstname.lastname@example.org. When we receive an approved accommodation verification letter (AVL) from DR, we will update the student's account as directed.
Each request is reviewed by an internal committee/department for their recommendation and, once determined, a dining or housing representative will alert students – via their Drexel email address – to the final status of the request. Thank you in advance for your patience.
