Celebrating 100 Years of Cooperative Education

When Anthony J. Drexel founded Drexel University, he insisted that students would be prepared for their post-graduate careers. That’s why in 1919, the College of Engineering launched a cooperative education program that would balance classroom theory with real world practice. This program has expanded over the last century, covering more than 75 different disciplines and creating national recognition for Drexel as one of the most comprehensive co-op programs available today.

Co-op provides more than knowledge. The unique design of this program creates an environment where students not only thrive, but become visionary leaders. By learning from experts tackling today’s most complex problems, students can make a real-world impact one co-op at a time.

Steinbright Career Development Center

A major resource that assists in the co-op process is the Steinbright Career Development Center. As one of the largest collegiate teams of co-op and career services, Steinbright also provides career counselors who will assist in all aspects of career development, advanced methods of interviewing skills, professional networking, and more. Upon graduation, you’ll have a full résumé with a variety of experience and have developed your own vast network of professionals around the world.
