Drexel University Black Alumni Council (DUBAC)

DUBAC’s vision is to embrace our collective responsibility to those who led the way among Drexel’s people of color community and to those who will follow, both on campus and in the world.

Current goals include:

  • To engage current students and alumni in a network that connects them to the University and each other through effective communication, stimulating programs and events.
  • To foster meaningful ties with students to attract, support, develop and empower the next generation of black alumni.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can get involved with DUBAC and connect with its members, take a moment to fill out our brief online interest form.

Each year, DUBAC hosts special events, open to all members of the Drexel community. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends look forward to these annual events as a time to come together, network and celebrate our shared connection.

  • DUBAC Annual Homecoming Brunch: This event usually features a keynote speaker who provides University updates on how Drexel promotes and values diversity. This event also allows alumni to expand their Drexel network and learn about exciting ways to foster student mentorship and engagement.

  • DUBAC Evening at the Kimmel Center: DUBAC created a partnership with the Philadelphia Chamber of Music Society to celebrate Black artists and the influence that they have across genres within the music industry. Its first event featured a performance by cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the first musician of color to win the BBC's Young Musician of the Year Award who rose to fame after performing at last year's wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
