Center City Campus Tour
Three Parkway is a key part of Drexel’s Center City Campus. Home to a variety of the College of Nursing and Health Profession’s programs, including physical therapy, nutrition, and others, it provides our students with state-of-the-art facilities where they can learn and hone their craft.
The Gait Lab, which is part of the College of Nursing and Health Professions, houses technology used for medicinal purposes. For instance, the motion-camera system allows study of athletes for tracking and treating overuse running injuries.
The College of Nursing and Health Professions trains students to care for both the physical and mental health of their patients, and its programs, including those in Creative Arts Therapy, Behavioral Health Counseling, and Couple and Family Therapy, utilize special rooms like these to practice the skills they need to care for our world. These facilities help our students develop an excellent foundation on which to build their future careers.
Drexel’s Center for Nutrition & Performance provides students a hands-on learning experience through classroom experience and the development and implementation of nutrition education programs for members of the Drexel community. Students are able to see how diet and exercise affect the human body through tests they perform right here at our Center City Campus.
Health Administration Training
The Health Administration Department offers programs for students seeking employment in administrative or managerial positions in the ever-expanding health care sector. Graduates from these programs go on to work in hospitals, clinics, managed-care companies, health-insurance companies, law, and health-marketing firms. With space to meet, present, and discuss the administrative challenges facing the healthcare industry, they’re well-prepared for whatever challenges they may face.
Physician Assistant Classrooms
The College of Nursing and Health Professions provides students with opportunities that go well beyond even an undergraduate degree. Our Physician Assistant program, where students have a chance to go in depth with medicine, practice patient interaction, and prepare themselves for an exciting career, is one great example of the prestigious graduate-level programs we offer.
Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice (CICSP)
Our courses aim to give a comprehensive experience, preparing students for the kind of work they may encounter after their time at Drexel. Many degrees require experience in a clinical setting. That’s where the Center for Interdisciplinary Clinical Simulation and Practice (CICSP) comes in. At CICSP, students can experience real-world scenarios through simulation labs, which utilize computerized mannequins to assist students. It’s the closest thing to being in the field, and students can experience it all before graduation.
New College Building
Located in New College Building, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies offers over 40 doctoral, medical, master’s and professional development programs. Each program’s curriculum emphasizes real-world experience and helps guide students to make career choices that best fit their abilities and evolving needs.
Graduate Student Housing
Students who attend the majority of their labs and classes on our Center City campus may want to live close by. Drexel offers graduate student housing at Stiles Hall, located one block north of the academic buildings in Center City. In Stiles, you can pick a one-, two- or three-bedroom apartment where you will have your own bedroom but will share a bathroom, kitchen, and living room with one or two other people (in the two- and three-bedroom options). To apply for graduate housing, please visit the graduate student housing section of the website. You may also contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Basic Science Laboratories
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies degree programs feature challenging and broad-based research and coursework with hands-on instruction. Our Center City campus is home to numerous state-of-the-art research laboratories under the direction of renowned faculty, who serve as mentors to our graduate students and doctoral candidates.
Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
Since its opening in 1812, the Academy of Natural Sciences has been famous for its exhibits of fearsome dinosaurs, live butterflies, and historic dioramas. Recognized as the oldest natural sciences institution in the Western Hemisphere, the Academy is a leader in research and education, presenting world-class exhibitions and interactive events. It also offers free admission to Drexel students, along with reduced rates for special exhibits, and is considered a favorite among local co-op opportunities.
Ben Franklin Parkway
The Ben Franklin Parkway stretches from City Hall to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Parkway is lined with an incredible array of museums and collections containing world-class artifacts and exhibits, including the Franklin Institute Science Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Rodin Museum, and the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.
Dilworth Park, which sits at the foot of City Hall, serves as a public meeting plaza, event space, and transportation hub. Known for its unique water fountain, which shoots dancing streams of water into the air, the park also hosts the city’s most picturesque ice-skating rink in the winter months.
The park also features a grand, glass-enclosed entrance to the intersecting Broad Street and Market-Frankford transit lines that lie below, making it an energetic and bustling location at all times of the day.
