From Alzheimer’s research and food safety, to morality in video games and traumatic brain injury, the sky’s the limit when it comes to student research at Drexel University. Graduate and undergraduate students conducting research in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences are invited to showcase their work to the entire Drexel community at the 13th annual College of Arts and Sciences Research Day on Tuesday April 9, 2013. All CoAS students, as well as non-CoAS students working with a CoAS faculty member, are encouraged to participate. This is a wonderful opportunity to share research experiences and gain valuable feedback from professors and peers.

CoAS Research Day 2013 will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The awards ceremony and reception will take place at 3:30 p.m. The entire Drexel community is invited to discover and celebrate the hard work of student researchers.

NEW FOR RESEARCH DAY 2013!

In addition to the traditional poster presentations, CoAS Research Day will include 20 oral research presentations this year. Oral presentations will last 15 minutes (10 minute talk + Q&A) and will be judged separately from the posters. To be considered for one of the 20 oral presentation spots, please indicate your interest on the registration form. NOTE: Because space is limited, admission is competitive and presenters will be chosen based on the quality of their abstracts. If you submit your abstract to the oral presentation category and are not selected, you will still be invited to present your research in the poster presentation category.

The College of Arts and Sciences’ Research Day highlights the significant contributions that student scholars and researchers, both graduate and undergraduate, make to their respective disciplines. Students present their work, in poster format, in a supportive, collegial and festive setting.

Posters and oral presentations will be judged by faculty in the following divisions:

  • Natural Sciences - Undergraduate
  • Natural Sciences - Graduate)
  • Humanities/Social Sciences - Undergraduate
  • Humanities/Social Sciences - Graduate

Prizes will be awarded to the top four presenters in each division of the poster category, and the top presenter in each division of the oral category.
