SMS Text limitation on Vonage Softphones for messages that include URL text strings - June 7, 2024 - 10:00 PM - Information about SMS (Text Messaging) with Vonage Application at all locations from Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00 PM: Currently users with Vonage Softphone applications (VBC Mobile or Desktop) are unable to send outgoing SMS text messages that include non-Drexel web URL or EMAIL addresses. Outgoing SMS messages containing such addresses will be silently discarded. Vonage informs us this is a temporary measure. If sending URLs or EMAIL ADDRESSES is critical to your operation, please contact telephone-request@drexel.edu and include the addresses in use. In such cases we will work with Vonage to have your outgoing SMS messages excluded from the temporary prohibition. **** Outgoing messages *without* these addresses are not impacted. Incoming message are also unaffected.
