    The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Diet Coke invited Drexel Fashion Design students to participate in a "STAYEXTRAORDINARY Design Challenge,” in which students were asked to create a T-shirt design for Diet Coke. Three Drexel Fashion Design students were selected: Kelly Jenkins, Toni-Marie Koulos and Kayla Speedy.

    •After nine months of collaboration between Raven and Blum, Elyssa Cusimano, a Film & Video senior began editing the project, assembling archival film clips and photographs.

    The month long exhibition, organized by Fashion professor Lisa Hayes, will feature textiles that reflect the aesthetic of three-dimensional textile art, a characteristic unique to works by Japanese artists.
    Some of Reiko’s textiles are pieced together from remnants of other materials, and many are made from recycled fiber and post consumer waste including PET bottle fiber or other recycled fibers.

    The Opera Company has cast fashion models to wear the winning designs, which will travel with the production to three Italian cities after the Philadelphia run from February 11th through the 20th.
    To give the play the genuine feel of high fashion the Opera Company enlisted our fashion design students, along with students from Moore and Philadelphia University, to create the clothes for a scene featuring a runway fashion show.

    Brave New World: Fashion and Freedom, 1911-1919 was made possible through a Westphal College Mini-Grant with additional funding from the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA).
    The exhibition Brave New World: Fashion and Freedom, 1911-1919 will be at the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery (3215 Market Street, Nesbitt Hall) from April 7th to May 7th.
