Ensembles Program

Percussion Ensemble

The Drexel Percussion Ensemble bring together the ethnic with the orchestral, and the ancient with the modern in percussion instrument applications. Students will learn to play traditional ethnic hand percussion instruments such as the tabla and dumbek, along with orchestral mallet instruments such as the marimba and vibraphone. Students will also incorporate modern percussion technology with Drexel's turntable and drum machine rig. The ensemble will also work on compositions and productions of its own creation. Performance scholarships are available for this ensemble. Scholarship auditions are generally held on Accepted Student's Weekend on April 12th and 13th, but may be scheduled at any time by contacting Mr. Bruce Kaminsky, director at bruce.kaminsky@drexel.edu or call (215) 895-4915.

Check out the Drexel Stompline here or go to YouTube and search for "Drexel Stompline".
